One of the worlds most famous street artists in the world “Banksy” has remained anonymous thus far. There are many rumors on who the artist is and it has almost become a crazed cult following who are infatuated with the identity.
Now the artist has helped to create a documentary film where Banksy will be seen on film and speaking for the first time.
The film tells the story of an eccentric man named Thierry Guetta who attempts to locate Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on him. ’It’s the story of how one man set out to film the un-filmable,’ Banksy said in a statement. ‘And failed.’
There are many skeptics and critics with rumors that the film is created around a prank. That the film maker’s story is very much elaborated and misdirected. Saying that the story documented isn’t really true. I personally feel it doesn’t really matter. I think the importance and accomplishment of the film has nothing to do with the rumors.
The new “documentary” Exit Through the Gift Shop, “directed” by Banksy, and “co-directed” by Shepard Fairey. The documentary became a hot ticket at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Opening in select cities across the US starting April 16th. Check them out here! http://www.banksyfilm.com/
