Nice article!
It really depends on the day!
I like some Rage against the Machine sometimes. That band is proof of creating fan loyalty to launch a career.

Love Biggie, JayZ, Wayne and others to get my blood flowing.

Hey Doug - thanks for the reply. Good to see that you have some people that inspire you, or at least get your heart racing.

I know for me lately it's been DJ Khalad that gets my heart going. Whenever I have made some sales or am getting tired, I can turn on his stuff and get the energy I need to push on.

There are coutless other examples, but I think people in general have lost touch with what music is supposed to be - an emotional release. Dancing at the bar. Listening to some country after a breakup or drinking a beer on the beach with Jack Johnson. Music creates memories and is there for the moments.

Anyway - thanks for sharing.

NICE POST GREG!!

I've got a couple artists that make me feel alive...

First, is Andrew McMahon of Jack's Mannequin and Something Corporate! This guy is an amazing singer / songwriter! His music speaks to me and makes me feel like I can conquer anything. He recently just overcame Lukemia and released a documentary that covered his battle.... which was one of the most moving documentaries I've ever scene!

Second, is Lil' Wayne! I'm borderline obsessed with weezy f baby! He's taken the music industry by storm and shows no signs of letting up! Weezy brings out the gangsta in me!

And both of these artists have a GREAT understanding of today's music industry. Andrew released three EP teasers in the months leading up to the full length release, which created this crazy anticipation. He continually keeps his fans coming back for more! And lil wayne puts out a free mixtape or seven, then a full length, and just repeats the process over and over!
