It’s almost that time of year again boys and girls!! I’m not quite sure why, but Warped Tour is the one day a year when I actually look forward to sweating my face off all day in Florida’s blistering heat! There’s just something about the energy inside the festival that gives me the endurance of an Olympic Athlete!
This year the festival seems to be a mix of old school punk rock veterans and some much younger internet fueled pop punk bands. Here are some of the bands I’m stoked to see live…
Pennywise – grew up on these guys and they always put on a crazy show! “Screw the perfect people, F*ck they all look the same!”
Alesana – saw these guys at HOB Orlando with Chiodos.. UNREAL!!
We The Kings – Fellow GINGER! “Check yes Juliet!”
Hey Monday – female-fronted floridians!!
Sum 41 – had the pleasure of seeing these lunatics at bar I used to work at and brought them back to our campus… where they were kicked off of for lighting fireworks off and burning trash… ROCKSTARS!
NeverShoutNever – this kid wrote and recorded is first ep in his basement, which has since sold 30,000 copies!
Automatic Loveletter – calling all “Romeo’s,” have you heard the pipes on 22 year-old Juliet Simms??
Emarosa, Face to Face, Bring me the Horizon – i’m ready for you to melt my face..
VersaEmerge – my friend Brock recorded and produced their album in Orlando at Starlight Studios
Mike Posner – roll the windows up…
The Word Alive – hadn’t heard of these guys until just now… the songs on there myspace sound pretty insane though! And they’re “ALIVE!”
After re-reading this… I think I might have a thing for punk rock chicks with vocal chops!
